Where have the Birds Gone?
I have been a bit remiss in keeping this blog going lately. This has been down to painting our bedroom (a job that has taken two years to complete but only required two days of painting – the nagging finally worked!!) and various other excuses and a modem that gave up the ghost. I promise to do better.
I have noticed since the last cold spell that there has been a reduction in the birds visiting our garden. Where our was garden was busy with Chaffinches, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Long Tailed Tits etc. I am lucky if I see half a dozen sparrows a day and an occasional Blue Tit. The bird feeders that used only to last half a day now go two days before requiring topping up. Our resident Blackbirds (they have a nest in our front garden and ‘joyously’ sing at the crack of dawn every morning) are very active. The Magpies have been busy in their nest and I have seen the male making romantic approaches to his mate so there is some activity there (I hope to get a new photo of them soon). But where have the birds gone?
So what has occurred? If any one can shed some light on this it would be appreciated. Is it the Magpies?
Answers would be greatly appreciated.
